If an app is to be developed for operating systems from different manufacturers (e.g. for iOS and Android), development with a cross-platform framework can be an alternative to developing separate native apps. When developing with a cross-platform framework, large parts of the app are ideally only implemented once, but used multiple times - namely in the apps for the different operating systems.

In the past, we have implemented numerous projects with Xamarin, but Flutter is clearly gaining ground for us.

We sometimes develop native apps for Google's Android system in Java, but mainly with the Kotlin programming language.

We develop native apps for iOS and iPadOS (as for all Apple platforms) using the Swift programming language. We use both UIKit and SwiftUI as UI frameworks.

Mobile apps can also be implemented using the same technologies that we normally use to create web applications. Reasons for this may include the fact that a web application already exists or is to be developed in parallel. In some cases, the app should ultimately be offered like a native app via the app stores. In other cases, the app and subsequent updates should be able to be distributed explicitly without app stores. Together with our customers, we determine the most promising approach in each case.
