Perfect surfaces for demanding industries
4JET stands for innovative laser systems that are used as integrated machine solutions for surface processing in tire, automotive, glass and photovoltaic production, as well as in aviation worldwide. Over the years, a complex application for machine control and automation of the laser applications had grown on the basis of an Access database and Windows Forms, which was difficult to maintain and further develop.
Modularity and intuitive usability
To replace the previous framework and realize a new, future-proof HMI application, 4JET chose slashwhy as its development partner. Apart from an improvement of software quality (clean code) and maintainability, the most important requirements were the development of a modular, component-based architecture, scalability, cloud readiness and intuitive usability.
Human Machine Interface 4.0
The new framework raises the HMI application to a new, future-proof level and sets the course for 4JET in the direction of IIoT and Industry 4.0. Alongside the introduction of modular, reusable components, the application also includes new features such as search function, versioning and archiving. Additionally, a modern, consistent UI optimized for touchscreens and characterized by intuitive usability was developed. Recipe handling has been standardized.
The speed of software development and the degree of automation were significantly increased and easy maintainability was guaranteed.
Thanks to modularity, the realization of individual customer requirements within the scope of special machine construction is made easier and more efficient.
With the new framework and cloud readiness, important prerequisites have been created for future distributed applications in the context of Industrie 4.0.
The project reached a new milestone in digitization at 4JET and initiated an agile transformation in the company at the same time.
Work on the machines could be made even more efficient, thus reducing downtime to a minimum.
